Hello, I'm here to try to contribute to the forum, and hopefully have some good debates with other people who love football. I grew up a Blackburn Rovers fan, but found myself identifying with United, in terms of the philosophy of the club and the style of it's players. I want to help the forum to grow, and I believe if we all work hard it will.

I hope your stay will be a happy one and hope the others have welcomed you with open arms as are all supporters. Don't worry if you were a Blackburn Rovers fan, nobody is going to hold it against you, they did win the Premier league more times than Liverpool after all... ;D

Well I'm not a glory hunter, or anything of the sort. I would rather we won nothing than became like City or Chelsea. I just enjoy the football United play and I find almost all of our players very likeable... I think that's something the club looks for actually. We seem to always sign players who aren't only talented but also good people (most of the time).
Most of all, I have a huge amount of admiration for Sir Alex, particularly as I am a youth coach as well.
I still go to Ewood Park maybe a dozen times a season, just because it's the nearest stadium to where I live.

I agree with you at 100%. Nothing worse than selling your soul i.e Chelsea or City just to win a couple of trophies. There is no history, there is no heart and soul, there is no class. They are simply football clubs with lots of money. Hell, even Sunderland have won the Top Tier trophy (Old First Division and Premier league included) more times than Chelsea.
As for the "admiration for Sir Alex", it is very rare for that to happen. Nevertheless, he doesn't want skillful players, he wants players that can knit together and play as a team rather than 11 individuals.

You stated that:
I can understand you have huge admiration for a manager like Sir Alex, but it is very rare as I guess most of the Manchester United hating world including the F.A would love to see his head on a platter.

Sorry, I see what you mean now. I think the media portrays him in a pretty horrific light, purely because he has the balls to call them out and doesn't give a damn about keeping them happy. Also because we don't 'leak' stories to the newspapers the way other clubs do. Which is how it should be However, as you and I know, if you actually listen to what the man has to say he's clearly one of the most intelligent and insightful people in the game. His football knowledge is unmatched and he has pride in everything he does. But you're right; he's mostly hated.

For the first point, don't worry about it, no probs. Secondly, Sir Alex has the courage of his convictions and is not like other managers. This is why I think Sir Alex and Arsene are so similar, as they are not afraid to speak their minds and are willing to serve touchline bans to stand for their beliefs. Your last point about listening to the "man", I think that is one dream for every Manchester United fan, just to listen to amazingly funny football anecdotes for hours. Sir Alex is the man who will be sadly missed when he leaves.
