The answer to that question is ,unsurprisingly, YES!!
Arshavin, Kevin Davies, and now Ashley Cole tackling players which should have seen them given their marching orders generally, but since they are playing United, they are given minimal punishment.
If people are going to flame me by telling me the challenges were minimal, I would ask them to see the Tottenham Vs Liverpool match which happened on the same day as that of the United Vs Chelsea match. That game saw two Liverpool red cards because of the simple reason that: They could not handle the pace of Tottenham Hotspur that day.
Let us come back to Manchester United. The opposition had shown the same inertia to the movement of the United team. Arshavin made 2 bad challenges because he was slow to the movement of the defense that day (2 Yellows), Davies for attacking Cleverley instead of the ball from behind (I will be reasonable and not ask for a red for the first challenge, but it should have been a yellow for the above challenge on Cleverley) and Ashley Cole on Hernandez (It was a studs up challenge in the penalty area, any higher and it could have been career-threatening, straight red in my opinion).
It has been seen for the last many years that one law governs the rest of the teams and another for United. They have to realize that their "hatred" will only make us stronger. That was why I was laughing inside when Steve McMahohan (that "adorable" Scouse bastard who has an unquestioned hatred for Man United ) said the high-flying team which scored 18 goals in the first 4 games would find it difficult to win against Chelsea. We did not play "well" per se, but we clocked 3 goals against them which says something about this team. But there is an insidious strategy to take out our sting from our squad.
I hope the FA would rescind and not allow Ashley Cole to play for some time for the belated challenge on Hernandez like they did with Alexander Song for the tackle on Joey Barton, but lately it looks like fool's hope.
